He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs
Homer saves Burns' life, who then takes him to Chicago in his private jet to thank him. Having tasted the sweet tang of success, Homer feels depressed about going back to his own life, so Marge hires a coach that's supposed to get him the successful job he needs to be able to fly in a private jet again. The coach finds out that Homer acts with more confidence when wearing his bowling shoes, so urges him to wear them to an interview. Homer doesn't get the job, but lies about it to Marge. He then has to hire a private plane, with a pilot that's high on heroin and has to land it himself.

The Homer of Seville
After church, the family crashes a funeral in order to get a meal that Marge doesn't have to cook. In trying to get away, homer hurts his back and realises that he is a great opera singer when lying on his back. He becomes a big opera star and starts to build a fan base. In order to keep the fans under control he hires a personal assistant, who ends up being in love with him. When homer fires her, she decides to try and kill him. Marge manages to stop her, and Homer decides to give up opera and start painting.

Midnight Towboy
When Homer's car is towed in the town of Guidopolis, he decides to become a towboy himself.  He gets a bit over enthusiastic and tows even his friends cars.  In the mean time, Marge thinks Maggie is becoming too clingy and finds a counselor on the itnernet that helps Maggie become more independent.  She becomes too independent, and soon has no need for Marge what so ever.
When Homer tows a car from outside of his territory, he gets kidnapped, and Maggie, with her new found skills, sets out to find and free him.

I Don't Wanna Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
When Marge is held hostage at the bank during a robbery, she manages to convince the robber to give himself up.  In return, she will visit him in prison.  However, when she's supposed to visit him she chickens out and can't bring herself to go to jail.  He escapes in order to take her to the theme park where his mother abandoned him, hoping that Marge will give him the day that his mother never did.

Treehouse of Horror XVIII
This year's treehouse of horror we get treated first to a parody on ET, with Kodos as the alien.  Then Homer and Marge become Mr and Mrs Smith, and lastly Ned Flanders reprises his role as the devil to teach Barth, Lisa, Milhouse and Nelson about the sins they're committing and the consequences of their actions

Little Orphan Millie
Millhouse's parents are renewing their wedding vows and leave for a cruise honeymoon.  At the cruise they are lost at see, orphaning Millhouse who stays with the Simpsons.  In becoming sad, he also becomes the most popular kid in school.  In order to make Millhouse happy again, Bart arranges for Millhouse's cool uncle to come and pick him up.
In the mean time, Homer forgets the colour of Marge's eyes, and she punishes him by not allowing him to see her eyes again, until he remembers.

Husbands and Knives
A new comic book store opens in Springfield, with a much cooler owner than Comic Book Guy, putting the latter out of business.  In the mean time, Marge realises that she is not as slim as she once was anymore so she decides to join a gym.  Not finding a gym to her taste, she starts one of her own, which becomes a huge success.
On a business trip, other husbands tell Homer that Marge is bound to upgrade him soon, so he resorts to plastic surgery so he can still look good for Marge

Funeral for a Fiend
When using TiVo to watch commercials rather than skip them, in order to support the networks, Marge and the family watch an advert for the grand opening of a new restaurant.  However, the restaurant opening is a clever trap, set for the family by Sideshow Bob, who plans to kill them by making a laptop explode.  The laptop explodes in his lap, and he is trialled once more.  At the trial, his father ( a doctor) says he has a heart condition and shortly after Bob dies.  It is all a ruse, and meant to trap Bart in the coffin on it's way to the cremation

Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind
Homer comes home to find no one's there.  He goes to Moe's who tells him that he drank a drink that made him forget the whole previous day.  He tries to remember what happened, and remembers small snippets that makes him afraid that his wife is cheating on him.  Eventually though he works out that she was actually planning a surprise party, but by that time he has already jumped of a bridge.  Luckily, the party takes place on a boat that passes directly under.

E. Pluribus Wiggum
Homer involuntary destroys the fast food lane of Springfield.  Because of this, the Springfield primary elections are moved up, making them the first in the country.  A load of possible candidates come down to Springfield to convince as many people as they can.  The Simpsons' undecidedness earns them the visit of all of them at once, all wanting a photo opportunity.  Homer and his friends, sick of the politicians, decide to enter Ralph into the competition.  He's hugely popular and becomes the candidate for both the republicans and the democrats

That '90s Show
While the gas is out in the house, they burn old books and things to keep warm.  In doing this the kids find out that Marge went to college.  Homer and Marge tell them the story of how they moved in together and Homer worked at his dad's laser house so Marge could pay her tuition.  She falls in love with her professor, and Homer, originally singing in a boyband, starts to make grunge music and becoming a huge success.  Unfortunately rumours say he also has a narcotic addiction, and Marge rushes back to him, after her professor told her he'd never want to get married.

Love, Springfieldian Style
On Valentine's day, Homer takes the family to a carnival, so the kids can run off and the parents can enjoy some sweet quality time together.  they go in the tunnel of love, where Bart puts jell-o in the water, getting them stuck in.  In order they pass the time, they tell each other stories.  Homer first tells his version of Bonnie and Clyde, Marge follows with her spin on Lady and the Tramp, and Bart finishes with the story of Sid Vicious' love life

The Debarted
Marge gets in to a car crash with Homer's car, making Bart late for class.  In class he sees that a new boy has come, one that is cooler than him.  At first he is afraid of losing his stature in school, but then he decides to pull a prank on Skinner to make him the coolest in school again.  Donny, the new boy, takes the blame, and Bart decides to let him in on all the pranks being played in Springfield Elementary.  However, the new kid turns out to be Skinner's snitch.
In the mean time, Homer gets a new car on loan while his old one is being repaired.  As it's a much better car than his, he doesn't want to give it back, until he notices that his old one is being sold.

Dial 'N' for Nerder
When Homer can no longer make love to Marge because of his weight, she decides to put him on a diet where he has to eat bell peppers any time he's hungry.  He gains weight rather than losing it, so she decides to call in a TV show to help her sneak on her husband, to see if he's cheating his diet.
In the mean time, Bart pulls a prank on Martin that makes him fall of an edge on a cliff.  Lisa, while trying to help him, actually pushes him over completely.  When reports of his death come rolling in, Nelson finds that Lisa and Bart are acting suspicious and he helps unravel the entire case

Smoke on the Daughter
After standing in line for hours to get the new Angelica Button book, they come home and watch some TV.  On it is an advert for a new ballet academy.  Marge wants to audition for it, but she is denied.  Lisa however is accepted.  She finds that second hand smoke makes her more focused and better at dancing, so Homer and Bart try to get rid of all the cigarettes from the ballet dancers
Meanwhile, Homer and Bart make their own beef jerky in the basement, which is stolen by racoons.

Papa Don't Leech
After finding out that the city is broke, they decide to collect all the back taxes.  The only one they can't find is Lurleen Lumpkin.  When they do find her, it turns out she has no money left and is living in the gutter.  She moves in with the Simpsons who find out that her dad had left her when she was a kid, and that is probably why she spent all of her money on dead beat husbands.  Marge finds her father for her, and she's so happy she writes a song about it.  Her father then steals the song and sells it to the Dixie Chicks

Apocalypse Cow
After seeing Martin drive a tractor, Bart joins the 4-H club to do the same.  There he enters a calf competition where they have to raise it to be a strong and sturdy cow.  Bart gets the runt, but he makes it into a prize winning bull.  It then gets sent to the feeding grounds to fatten up, but Bart and Lisa rescue it.  They give it to Cletus' daughter Mary so she can keep it on the farm, but that means he has to marry the girl.  However, Marge has a plan that gets Bart out of the wedding and the bull sent to India.

Any Given Sundance
During a fight at a football game, Lisa sees a lot of things she wants to capture in a movie.  She makes a documentary about her family, but her teacher only gives her a 3 out of five on it, so she goes to complain to Principal Skinner.  He decides to back her movie, and together with Chalmers sends it to the Sundance Film Festival.  There Lisa is a big hit at first, though her family resents her for the way she portrayed them, until Nelson's film is shown, which is so heart wrenching that he takes over all the attention.

Mona Leaves-a
Coming home from a trip to the mall, the family find their door unlocked.  Inside the house they see Homer's mother, who's baked them a pie.  She's come home to them seeing as how the government isn't searching them anymore.  Homer doesn't want to build a relationship with her again at first, but when he's finally willing, Mona's dead.  In her video will she leaves  them instructions to where she wants her ashes spread, which turns out to be a secret rocket base, from where Burns wants to launch nuclear waste into the rain forest.  Mona's ashes prevent that from happening and together the family destroys the base.

All About Lisa
When Krusty holds an audition for a new krusketeer, Bart is by far the best candidate, though Krusty chooses Nelson because of the reward Nelson's mother gave him.  Lisa steps up and suggests Krusty takes Bart on as an intern, but Krusty takes her on in stead.  She becomes the best personal assistant he's ever had, and at one point steps in on stage for Mr Teeny.  She's a huge success, and takes over the entire show.
In the mean time, Homer and Bart take up coin collecting and fill an entire book of american coins, scamming Mr. Burns out of a "kissing Lincolns" penny
